I came home and transferred all the photos from the CF card to HD, put the card back in the camera and. I was alarmed and concerned by this behavior so i felt it best to just switch over to my backup 8GB 400x Lexar card - the camera performed flawlessly the rest of the dayīut i didn't want to chance it so i avoided rating any photos Some technical details i suspect are important: i was shooting small JPGs - i was using a 16GB 400x Transcend CF card - i had over 1200 images on the card Nothing i could do would stop the LED from blinking In each case, after restarting the camera, the red LED light would blink rapidly - constantly I *could* access the images via the play button I turned the camera off, disconnected the batteries, and took the card out and put it back in - no change I turned the camera off, disconnected the batteries - no change
I turned the camera on and off - no change I was rating quite a few - i had over 70 images ratedĪt one point, after rating an image, i got the "busy" message on the LCD screen and the red LED light was steadily blinking rapidly - i couldn't access the Rating, Resize, or RAW image processing items in the "playback 1" tab (i'm pretty sure this anomaly is related rating) In the morning, during the warm ups, i was shooting the horses as they ran by - then rated the images after the pass Took it out to del mar to the race track to watch the horsies run got a photographer's pass (nice!) All of these updates can be found on the Canon EOS 7D Drivers & Software page on Canon's website.Took it out for the first time today for its first real test after updating to v2.0 - well, wasn't really "testing" it per se, i was just "using" it Also note that you'll need to update the Wireless File Transmitter to firmware version 1.0.7, EOS Utility software to version 2.13.25, Digital Photo Professional to version 3.13.45, and ImageBrowser EX to version 1.0.1, if you've not already done so. Note that after updating, date and time settings will be reset, and so will any lens peripheral illumination correction data stored in the camera. No other changes are noted in the new firmware release. If a wireless connection has already been established, FTP transfers via USB could fail with earlier versions of firmware. Does your camera bag include Canon's EOS 7D digital SLR and WFT-E5A wireless file transmitter? If so, the company has a new firmware update that you'll want to install on the camera body.Ĭanon EOS 7D firmware version 2.0.5 corrects a problem when transferring files via USB with the Wireless File Transmitter attached.
